Sony Canada Adds New Bravia TVs

Sony Canada is adding two new screen sizes to its 4K Ultra HD TV lineup: a 65-inch and 55-inch model will now be included in the XBR-X900A series.

Sony Bravia owners know that 4K Ultra HD TV have four times the resolution of Full HD and delivers the highest picture quality regardless of the content.

Daniel Phillips, Director of TV Marketing at Sony Canada elaborates on the new televisions: “With two new sizes, the amazing 4K TV experience will now be within reach of more consumers. The 84-inch XBR 4K LED TV is undoubtedly an impressive sight and a status symbol, but these new sizes mean that the beauty of Sony 4K can be experienced in any home environment – at a price that is right around that of a premium HD TV.”

The XBR-X900A series (X series) achieves a stunning picture with the help of the 4K X-Reality PRO picture engine that reduces visual noise and corrects image sharpness. Add to that, the new TRILUMINOS Display LED backlighting technology to deliver rich, authentic colour with more subtle tones, while also replicating bold colours including hard-to-reproduce reds and greens.

Exceptional picture quality on the X series is accompanied by a captivating sound experience by incorporating an end-to-end Sony audio solution. Sony’s Signal-to-Sound Architecture and Magnetic Fluid Speakers offer unique digital signal processing for smooth midrange, lower vibration and deep bass.

Of course, the new models are WiFi enabled and feature cross-device connectivity between smartphones and tablets including NFC-enabled one-touch screen mirroring.

Expect the new models in Sony Stores and leading retailers along with precise pricing details this Spring.

I thought ultra HDTV was 8K, and 16 times the resolution of HD, but I guess that recently changed, and now even 4K, 4 times is considered ultra HDTV.
