Toronto’s Match Marketing Buys OSL Marketing Group
The OSL Marketing Group, which was established in 1988 and includes OSL Marketing, Ignite Activation and social/digital marketing group Blender Experience Design, will enable Match to create seamless one-source shopper marketing solutions for Fortune 500 clients across North America.
Brett Farren, Match Marketing Group’s President and CEO, said the acquisition works because OSL’s leadership, innovation and experience blends well with Match’s marketing, promotion and digital competencies.
Farren adds: “This change allows us to bring our clients a turnkey, below-the-line solution, as they are continually challenged to drive both effectiveness and efficiency in their agency relationships.”
Mississauga, ON-based OSL Group counts PepsiCo, Mars, ConAgra Foods, Yum! Restaurants of Canada, Medic Alert, GE Canada and Energizer among its clients. Match’s staff count now increases to nearly 220 and combined revenues will broach about $60 million.
Beringer Capital, a private equity firm based in Toronto, partnered with Match in 2011 and provided the capital to complete the acquisition. Beringer also financed Match’s acquisition of social networking firm, Action Marketing Group in early May.
