Dell launches mobile VoIP Service exclusively in Canada
Yesterday Dell Canada and Fongo launched Dell Voice (dellvoice.ca), a VoIP service centered around the idea of saving Canadian mobile customers money by offering voice calling capabilities using a mobile app on your smartphone or Windows desktop.
The service centers around Fongo and their access to Fibernetics, an across Canada network. This gives Dell Voice the opportunity to offer a local Canadian phone number to registered users as well.
While this sounds like a great new offering to help subsidize your cellular costs, we are just installing the app now and as such do not know how much data it uses. Still, even with a hefty rise in data usage it should still serve as a great way to lower the amount of minutes used by mobile users.
Android and iOS apps are available now, with a BlackBerry version expected in March 2012. No news on a Windows Phone app at this time.
