Teksavvy, a popular third party internet access (TPIA) provider based out of Chatham Ontario, has announced that it is raising the price of its cable and DSL internet packages by as much as 15% effective February 2nd.

The company will also be introducing new cable and DSL Internet packages with varying bandwidth caps in an effort to appeal to more price sensitive consumers and to heavy downloaders who don't want any bandwidth cap constraints.

Cable Pricing

Beginning February 2nd, Teksavvy will offer seven cable internet packages, up from four today (see chart below for details).

Prices on the existing plans will increase by just over 8% on the Express Cable package which offers 12Mb/s download speeds and a 300GB cap to 12.7% on the Extreme Cable Pro which offers 24Mb/s download speeds and an unlimited cap.

DSL Pricing

Beginning February 2nd, Teksavvy will offer nine DSL high speed internet packages, up from six today (see chart for details).

Prices on the two existing plans which are comparable before and after the changes will increase by 9.5% on the High Speed Internet service package which offers 6Mb/s download speeds and a 300GB cap and 15.1% on the High Speed Internet service package which offers 6Mb/s download and an unlimited cap.

For Premium DSL, Teksavvy has actually reduced some of its pricing. The pricing of the High Speed DSL 16 and 25 packages have been reworked so a percentage price comparison is not possible.

The DSL 16/25 packages with a 300GB download which are currently priced at $55.97 per month plus $99 start-up fee and $67.97 per month plus $99 start-up fee respectively, will now be priced at $45.99 and $52.99 a month respectively.

Teksavvy has introduced an unlimited download option for its 16 and 25 packages which will cost users an additional $14 and $25 a month respectively for the ability to exceed the 300GB cap to their hearts content.

The company also announced that, for DSL users with its 300GB packages, the download meter will not run between the hours of 2 am and 8 am, effectively allowing unlimited services for all downloading in that off-peak period.
