FX Canada added to Telus Optik TV line-up

Telus said today that FX Canada is now available to Optik TV customers in British Columbia and Alberta on Channel 188. The Rogers Media digital specialty channel will be available on free preview until February 12, 2012.

FX Canada, which went on air in in Canada on November 1st, is a Canadianized version of the Fox owned FX Channel. The station has been on the air in the U.S. since 1994 and is best known for popular shows such as Sons of Anarchy, The Shield and Nip/Tuck.

Many of these shows are not available on the Canadian station because the rights are owned by other Canadian channels however, notable shows which will be showing on the Canadian station include: American Horror Story, a “psycho-sexual thriller” from the producers of Nip/Tuck and Glee, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk; Wilfred a half-hour, live-action comedy about Ryan (Elijah Wood, The Lord of the Rings), a young man struggling unsuccessfully to make his way in the world until he forms a unique friendship with Wilfred (Jason Gann, The Wedge), his neighbour’s canine pet; and The League, a half-hour comedy about male friendship, marriage, parenting, suburbia and growing up – or refusing to grow up – through a circle of friends in a fantasy football league.

THe IPTV provider also announced today that Space HD and Discovery HD were coming to it`s line-up in the near future, however, no firm dates were given.

    Really no point in publishing if the HD feed hasn’t been launched yet.

    @Riley,

    There’s more to life than HD, not everyone have or can have HD.

    For now I’m perfectly fine with SD, great image quality, I currently don’t care about HD. Maybe in an very extended future I could “upgrade”, but not now.
