Bell Fibe gets three new HD simulcast channels

Three new High Definition simulcast channels are launching on Bell’s Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) service today.

Animal Planet HD, Investigation Discovery HD and Discovery Science HD which are mirrors of their standard definition (SD) counterparts will roll out on Bell Fibe TV on channels 1525, 1528 and 1523, respectively. The three channels are all owned by Bell Media.

Bell Fibe TV, which is available to over one million homes in Toronto and Montreal, uses Bell’s existing home’s telephone lines to deliver television services to
customers.

Viewers who subscribe to the SD versions of the channels on Bell Fibe TV will automatically receive the HD versions at no additional cost. In addition, a free preview of Animal Planet HD will be available until January 31, 2012.
