WebMD App released for Android

WebMD today announced the launch of its consumer health app on the Android platform. The app has been downloaded over five million times by Apple iOS users and should be a popular draw among Android suers.

The app helps consumers in their decision-making and health improvement efforts by providing access to mobile-optimized health information and decision-support tools, including WebMD’s Symptom Checker, Drugs & Treatments, First Aid Information and Local Health Listings.

The app has voice activated search for information on a health condition, drug, treatment or first aid topic.

I have used the WebMD app on the iPad and recommend Android users check it out by by searching for WebMD at the Android Market www.android.com/market/ or by typing ‘mobile’ at WebMD.com.

Discuss this app and more in Digital Home’s Smartphone and Tablet Computing discussion forum.
