Virgin Radio dropped in Ottawa

Just two years after Astral Radio switched The Bear in Ottawa to Virgin Radio, Canada’s largest radio broadcaster is switching it back.

Starting this week, Astral says The Bear will “return to more of the rock music that they know and love drawn from a deeper, wider musical catalogue.”

Going forward the station will be playing artists such as AC/DC, Nirvana, Metallica and Three Days Grace. Also returning is The Bear’s Most Wanted (Request Show) heard twice daily at noon and 6pm and the popular 9 In A Row show.

The on air staff will not change with Gonzo, Kaz & Jay in the mornings, veteran Bear personalities Wendy Daniels and Scott Lear through the day and Joe Leary for the drive home.

I’m so happy they’re back. Virgin’s music was pure crap.
