Public Mobile roaming begins March 14th

Wireless phone provider Public Mobile has announced roaming coverage for its customers in most major cities in Ontario and Quebec, as well as areas in Nova Scotia, Manitoba, Alberta and B.C. beginning March 14th.

To facilitate payment, every Public Mobile customer account will have a virtual wallet they can deposit money into ahead of time to pay for the calls while roaming.

The cost to make or receive a call to a Canadian or U.S. telephone number will be 15-cents per minute when the customer is in the roaming area. Customers can also receive International calls for 15-cents per minute while roaming. Outgoing texts are also 15-cents and incoming texts are free. Calls to the call centre and 911 are also free.

“We’ve always said that we want to offer all the value we can in the marketplace,” said Alek Krstajic, Chief Executive Officer of Public Mobile. We want to make owning a cell phone affordable, and give everybody the chance to talk. Introducing roaming at a price far less than any other wireless carrier in Canada demonstrates Public Mobile’s commitment to providing consumers with cell phone service they can afford.”

Public Mobile offers wireless phone plans without any contracts in Toronto and Montreal starting from $24 a month.
