This may actually be appealing if there were no such thing as monthly bandwidth caps which HD movie downloads will run up REALLY fast. No thanks.

I really don’t think bandwidth caps are an issue for the typical user buying 1 or 2 HD movies a week. I’ve had no issues so far renting these every week.

Finally! I didn’t know this had happened but was pleasantly surprised to find that I could buy Star Trek in HD on my AppleTV last night.

Now if only the CRTC would let us watch regular TV.

I’m really frustrated that we can’t get Deadwood, Dexter, Californication, etc via iTunes. That seems like the criminal part, to me.

Purchasing a Blu-Ray disc is a much better option for the same money. Are these movies 1080p? No. Do they have lossless audio? No. Do they include extras and special features? Not sure but I doubt it. There is no packaging, no physical media, no transportation costs, no physical distribution chain – thus no retailers – other than Apple. Let me know when they are $5 to own. $25 is laughable and a scam – a 25% premium over the US prices. Our Canadian dollar is almost at par. How does it cost them 25% more to upload to Canadians? Will the greedy studios never learn?
