Rogers Wireless no longer the fastest and most reliable

wirelessTelus yesterday obtained a court injunction which prevents Rogers Communications from claiming to have the most reliable wireless network in Canada.

In his ruling, Justice J. Christopher Grauer of the Supreme Court of British Columbia said that Rogers advertising claim was “misleading”.

The decision comes less than two weeks after Telus asked the B.C. Supreme Court for an injunction against Rogers, saying that Rogers’s claim to have a wireless network twice as fast as the competition and one that was more reliable was based on outdated information.

Rogers acknowledged in court that it was no longer the fastest wireless network and has since dropped that claim from its advertising; however, the company continues to cling to its claim that it has the most reliable wireless network.

Both firms are expected to be back in court on Friday.

The new Telsu 3G+ is rated near 21 Mbps, but a look at the HSPA phones suggest they are not capable of much more than 7 Mbps and most around 3 Mbps

Maybe the new Air Cards can take advantage of it, unknown.

In theory, new gear has the potential to be more reliable, but we really need a 3rd party review of the networks for speed and reliability on a annual basis.

Trysted a suppliers own claims is just foolish.
