LG unveils Android based EVE

LG_EVEThe LG Eve, the manufacturer’s first Android OS-based smartphone is now available from Rogers Mobile.

LG says the smartphone was built for social media enthusiasts and features a special application called Social Network Services (SNS) Manager that integrates the user’s Facebook, Twitter and Bebo networks in one place.

The LG Eve boasts of a 3-inch touchscreen with 480 x 320 pixel resolution, a slide-out 5 line QWERTY keyboard, a 5 megapixel camera with video capture and autofocus, built-in accelerometer, Wi-Fi and GPS, Bluetooth 2.0 EDR support, advanced video recording and playback capabilities, email client and expandable memory storage up to 16GB via the MicroSD slot.

Google Apps shipping with the EVE include Google Search, Google Maps and Google Latitude. Users can also load up with additional apps from the Android market.

The LG Eve can be purchased from Rogers for $400 without a contract.

    I’ve heard the LG phone is clumsy and feels as if the two halves don’t mate…the Keyboard is only semi-good…..It’s really best for the IM crowd, as this phone has built-in messaging apps for all your favourite services.
