Microsoft Windows 7 now on sale in Canada

windows_7After numerous beta and release candidates and tons of hype, Windows 7 from Microsoft is now available on new computers and as a software upgrade for some older PCs.

In Canada, a full version of Windows 7 Home Premium will sell for $230 while the upgrade version will sell for $130. The Professional and Ultimate versions will sell for $330 and $350 respectively. Upgrade versions will sell for $250 and $280 respectively.

The reviews for Windows 7 have been generally positive and for an excellent and for a balanced review, Digital Home recommends PC World’s Windows 7 Review for anyone who is still deciding whether they should upgrade.

Among the more well known reviewers, New York Times tech columnist David Pogue was positive about Windows 7 saying it “looks like 7 is a lucky number after all.”

Walt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal, whose Windows review was published several weeks ago, said his bottom line was “Windows 7 is a very good, versatile operating system that should help Microsoft bury the memory of Vista and make PC users happy.”
